2011 All-NBA Team and All-Defensive Team

All-NBA First Team
G: Derrick Rose
G: Dwayne Wade
F: LeBron
F: Nowitzki
C: Dwight Howard

No surprises here. The only discussion was whether to put Durant as a forward over Nowitzki. Nowitzki missing 9 straight games this season and Dallas went 2-7 during that stretch, leading to him getting the nod.

All-NBA Second Team
G: Chris Paul
G: Kobe Bryant
F: Kevin Durant
F: Pau Gasol
C: LaMarcus Aldridge

Aldridge is officially a PF, but he had to fill in at the Center position for a large amount of time due to injuries. And it helps his cause that there are no other great centers who really deserve to be on the second team. Kevin Garnett was closely considered for second team, as his defensive presence was back to '08 level, but Gasol's extra minutes per game gave him the edge.

All-NBA Third Team
G: Russell Westbrook
G: Manu Ginobili
F: Paul Pierce
F: Kevin Garnett
C: Al Horford

Horford made it over Duncan due to the extremely low minutes Duncan played this season. It is a sad time for big men when only one official center is on any of the All-NBA teams.

All-Defensive Team
G: Tony Allen
G: Andre Iguodala
F: Lebron James
F: Kevin Garnett
C: Dwight Howard

Iguodala is a point-forward who regularly covers the SF, but will switch to guarding the SG on the opposing team if they are the superior scorer. While Tony Allen's patented offensive move is still dribbling the ball off his knee and he still can't shoot a jumper to save his life, he has hands down the best perimeter defense in all of basketball.
